Meadows (3): Polaris Viewer
The sloping edge at the top left is aimed at the North Pole Star, 'Polaris'. We installed the sculpture on a cold winters day with great care to follow the north-south line provided by the site engineer, and were rewarded with a clear evening and a perfect siting of the star.
The verse by Carolyn Jesse-Cook is a 'mesostic', the lines cleverly devised to contain the name Polaris:
