Easington Lane: the pigeon race
I made three large entrance signs for Easington Lane as part of a regeneration project. By chance I met first the local pigeon racers, and that provided a theme for all the carvings - the birds have incredible courage and stamina, finding their way home over hundreds of miles and facing hazards on the journey such as birds of prey and overhead power lines.
