A splendid stainless steel crown had been made for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. In consultation with Matlock Civic Association the District Council chose the crown as the centrepeice for a new roundabout. It was felt that it deserved to be mounted more prominently on a royal cushion with braiding and tassels. To match the very contemporary style of the crown I made the cushion very simple and geometrical, but I feel it still looks quite comfortable.
