Just one finial survived, a tapering socle surmounted by a banded sphere, from which I made new copies for three other posts.
The golden sandstone of Howick Hall is an impressive back drop to the wonderful garden and arboretum which are open to the public, along with the Earl Grey Tea House. My restoration of the terrace balustrading was carried out in the fragrance of the Mexican Orange Blossom Choysia ternata.
