NT Wallington: the seahorse
A carving of a seahorse in the walled garden at Wallington, owned by the National Trust. The carving is in Portland stone, quite eroded and heavily covered in lichen, and the horizontal joint was coming adrift. The plant growth is very picturesque but was not helping the preservation of the sculpture.
