While at Chichester I recall one of the turrets we restored had to be plumbed vertical in the traditional manner with a heavy plumb bob, dropped down inside a scaffold tube to protect it from the wind. This one is much smaller, about 50mm high, but carefully used is quite accurate enough to build a steeple. The top part unscrews to allow the string to be knotted inside.
